Writing

Information & Cold, Hard Facts

• We begin by gathering as much information on the product and business. From there, key points that make the business or product unique are highlighted. By gathering as much information we are able to understand, appreciate and write copy that will  bring in new customers by providing cold, hard facts, and not just “fluff” that fills pages.
  
• We like to ask clients if they have anything they would like to contribute to the project, such as: quotes, slogans and any other one of a kind, useful catch phrases that pertain to their business. And if none are available, FocuseDesigns is more than happy to provide them with one. Of course this isn’t mandatory; it’s just an option we are open to.

A solid foundation

• Once important information is gathered to create excellent copy, we proceed to arrange it so that there is structure and a steady flow through out the project. In a sense, it is like writing a good story that will stay with the potential client, and not just a collection of random information.

Technical Writing

• Adept at developing technical documentation of many kinds in accordance with many standards.

• Proficient at creating, negotiating and documenting improved processes, work instructions and procedures.

• Trained and experienced at writing to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experienced with basic webpage editing, electronic publishing software and the hard-copy print industry.

Designing

Brainstorming in the right direction

• Before we begin to design on the computer, we sketch as many ideas and thumbnails on a sketch pad. Doing it this way allows us to come up with as many ideas as we possibly can. At FocuseDesigns, we take immense delight in brainstorming.
• While sketching design elements, we begin to incorporate key words and headlines that belong to our clients business or product.
• At FocuseDesigns, we use many different designing programs, such as: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDraw, Adobe Acrobat, HTML, DHTML,. XHTML, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access,  Framemaker, Adobe Fireworks CS4, CAD Design/Drafting programs, and ECO’s, generating BOM’s / NIM’s  and maintaining software files.
